Here we are, at the start of a new season and Blue Rovers would like to extend a welcome to all of you, whether this is your first time coaching a Blue Rovers football team or you're one of our grizzled old pros that turn up and coach a team every season. A club like ours can only function with your help and support, so thank you for putting your hand up as a coach.
This page has been set up specifically with coaches in mind and it will be updated regularly with:
- training tips
- details of coaching courses
- Club Coaches meetings, and
- anything else that we feel will support you in your coaching role for The Club.
We will also shortly be sending out details of an App that we are signing up for and that you will be able to log into, to get a whole range of training exercises for all age groups and for elements of the game e.g. attacking, defending, heading, goalkeeping etc.
We have also, once again, engaged the services of the Ricki Herbert Football Academy and will be running some coaching session with him and his team. Make a note of the dates when they are announced as these are very popular for picking the big man's brains.
Finally for now, WaiBoP Football offer up numerous courses for coaches and many of these are partially or wholly subsidised by Blue Rovers Football Club. The Introduction To Coaching course is free of charge and we would recommend that all new coaches attend. It's great fun and gives you some great pointers.
