Become a Supporter

The Tauranga Blue Rovers Football Club is a non-profit sports club established in 1971 that serves the Greerton, Oropi, Pyes Pa, Lakes, Tauriko and Central Tauranga communities. Our vision is Football for Everyone. We offer a variety of football programmes so that any person, regardless of their background or ability, can experience "the beautiful game" without having to leave their local community. This is reflected in the gender makeup of our committee, diversity of our members, and our programmes which cater for the beginning player, the casual player, the social player, the aspirational player, the "played in my youth" player, the disabled player, and the new to Aotearoa New Zealand player.

You can pitch in and support the club in a number of ways including:

Volunteering

The club relies on over a hundred volunteers to operate each year. Please contact: volunteer@bluerovers.co.nz if you can help with any of the following roles:

  • BBQ Operators: make and sell sausages to hungry players and their families on Saturday mornings. We'd like lots of volunteers so that people would only need to man the BBQ once or twice a season.
  • Club Photographers: Take high-quality photos of teams on game days and at club programmes/events.
  • Club Secretary: Sends out committee meeting packs, records committee meeting minutes, receives and directs club correspondence.
  • Development Programme Coordinator: Provides administration support to the Director of Football for the Development Programme.
  • Futsal Coordinator: Liases with Waibop, the Director of Football and club members. Supports club members to enter teams into the Term 1 and Term 4 futsal competition. Organises playing shirts and kit bag for teams. Provides reports to the Director of Football.
  • Gear Officer: Issues and collects club gear, manages inventory, requests quotes.
  • Social Media Officer: Fosters our club community online by creating regular social media posts.
  • Sponsorship Officer: Sends out sponsorship materials, onboards new sponsors.
  • Team coaches, managers, first aiders
  • Working bee volunteers: Helps with gear collection, gear movement, spring cleaning, minor repairs, maintenance.

Sponsor the Blue Rovers

The club is heavily reliant on grant funding and sponsorships to keep programme fees as low as possible. Please contact: president@bluerovers.co.nz if you have a business, or work in a business that:

  • supports our vision of football for everyone;
  • wants to support a local, community institution;
  • wants to get their name in front of the 1800 players and their families who participate in our programmes;
  • just loves football.
